My practicum I placement was at St. Mary's Academy with Miss Kristin Ripplinger as the practicum teacher. Fall semester 2019.
St. Mary's Academy, also known as Light of Christ Middle School, is a Catholic private middle school.
Miss Ripplinger taught 7th grade social studies five periods a day. I participated consistently in the social studies classes with two of my own lesson plans as well as co-teaching Miss Ripplinger's lessons. For some examples of lessons I taught and other artifacts, please refer to the artifacts tab of my portfolio.
Some other forms professional development include: observing exploratory and elective classes, supervising students during mass and lunch periods, sitting in and participating on parent-teacher conferences.
I completed 47 hours of practicum with Miss Ripplinger.

AVID Tutoring
AVID tutoring at Bismarck High School with Mr Jordan Wilhelm as the classroom teacher. Fall semester 2016.
Training for AVID was done with Mrs Tana Sukauskas. AVID Class periods was with Mr Wilhelm's 9th grade class.
AVID involved Socratic seminars with a group of students (4-6) and one AVID tutor. The formed group would branch off and look at questions students in the group would have about their classes, life outside of school, or preparation for university.
Students with learning disabilities, low-SES, in poverty, or whose grades do not represent their potential are the typical student makeup for these AVID classes.
Students part of AVID are considered to be students who have the potential to be great learners and citizens. These students need the opportunity for extra work and focus which a class period of AVID offers.
